From Sofia to the professional tour
Teo was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and moved to the United States as a young child. He began swinging at a suspended ball at two and a half, trained regularly by age three, entered competition at five, and developed through national and international junior tennis.
The two-forehand approach
Instead of relying on a traditional backhand, Teo changes hands and attacks with a forehand from both wings. The system demands precise spacing, early recognition, efficient racquet transfer, footwork, and confidence under pressure.
Professional breakthrough
In 2026, Teo earned his first ATP ranking points after advancing through qualifying and deep into an ITF men’s event in Florida. The milestone confirmed that the style could compete against older, experienced professionals.
Beyond tennis
Teo enjoys skiing, biking, swimming, music, friends, animals, and nature. The broader philosophy treats tennis as a path toward discipline, awareness, resilience, and contribution.
